Nismo power brace

Yao had his power brace powder coated at Ram Proline and it turned out beautiful. The shop experimented with some colors and came up with this one.

Just a few pictures of the engine bay as it sits. The chase Bays brake booster eliminator works very well, no mods to the intake mani!

So it has been a little while since I updated everyone on the build. Everything has slowed down a bit, but when it happens, it will be fast. Just waiting for some time to get the rest done, but it will probably take another couple weeks before its done.

Got the Exedy Hyper Twin on the motor and the tranny put on. Also got the motor in the car and when I say tight fit….I mean REALLY tight fit. Had to bang out the fire wall a bit to even get the motor to seat the motor mounts. Had to also cut the shifter hole in the car (expected).

Then I also got a hold of some Tomei Adjustable Cam gears from . They just came out for the 1JZ and they look great. Love the red!

I got my Nismo Power Brace off to Ram Proline for powder coating here in Vegas. They are probably the best powdercoaters I have seen. Super legit colors and very professional work and service. So keep posted for updates on the Team Verzus cars.

My vision is completely there…

Almost there…

Almost there, just a little bit longer and it will be the car to rule them all!

Since the last update, I have got a few parts in; DOC Race manifold, Borg Warner SX200 7670 T4 Divided .83 a/r, Tial 44mm Wastegatesx2, and Godspeed manifold back from the machine shop.

Thanks to some friends and teammates, we got the motor test fitted in the engine bay. Already we noticed some issues we are going to have to overcome i.e wastegate dump pipes, downpipe, and intercooler piping. My welder is a beast, so I’m sure we’ll figure it out.

Soon as we dropped the motor in, we had to test fit the radiator. Good thing we did, because my current electric fans won’t fit, but I know ones that will. If you look at the back, the fitment is awesome. The mounts were from Forest Wang and when he said, “furthest back possible”, he was not lying.

Overall the whole motor looks awesome. I’m just waiting on some parts to get here from DriftMotion and from EDO Performance. (AEM V2, Fuel system, Exedy twin clutch).

Update 6 March 2012

Exedy clutch came in as well as my fuel cell. Got the Summit 10 Gal and the RCI 1 Gal (swirl pot). I have to say I really love the quality that Exedy always puts into their product. I can’t say for sure that this is going to be an awesome clutch because I haven’t drove it yet, but I’m guessing it will be.

Satou-RiRi new breather…

Got the new new manifold from DOC Race. Look at how it compares to the old manifold. This will also be piston coated to keep engine bay temperatures down.

More 1JZ Build action!

More parts are coming in now and the 1JZ build is almost ready to be dropped in the car and tuned. All this time and money is just so we can make Round 2 of Vegasdrift ProAM. Out team hopes to get out there and show what a quality build and preparation can do. No janky parts, not janky tunes, and it will outlast the competition.

The first part we got in was the one we have been waiting for. This manifold is magnificent! Quality welds and it is definitely the last manifold I need to buy. I suggest to anyone that wants to get a manifold for their 1J, 2J, SR20, w/e to go to and pick up a manifold from these guys. The manifold I got is the first 1JZ GTE manifold they have made and we are happy to showcase their work for them.

The manifold is a DOC Race T4 Twin Scroll top mount with dual MVR VBand wastegate pipes. The wastegates I went with was the Dual Tial 44mm MVRs. The MVRs are the new wastegates recently launched by Tial that include new water cooling. This drives down the temperature in the wastegates and allows for better performance.

Ram Proline here in Las Vegas also did a powder coat on my valve covers with a White with red pearl. They came out amazing as they always do from Ram proline. Check them out in Vegas for a quality powder coat and great prices.
