Our own Team Verzus driver Zachery “Yao” Hitchcox is participating in a contest at MotorMavens. This build has been going on for some time and is coming very close to fruition. This contest is judged upon the amount of comments and views, basically the popularity. Please help out a local driver by going over to his build thread on MotorMavens using the link below and leave some comments!
Yao’s 1JZ GTE MotorMavens Build Thread
Got my new Greddy AIRINX B-Type in the mail today from FRSport today. Fits on the Borg Warner 7670 S200X turbo very well. Slipped right on and looks amazing. Love greddy filters!
I haven’t put a update here on a while. This is the new progress of my 1JZ GTE build in my S13. Wiring is in progress right now and we are looking like a weekend start time if the stars align. Look for a start up video and hopefully a tune video in the near future.
Forest Wang (Get Nutz! Garage) – Full roll cage, chassis reinforcement with stitching, 1jz engine/tranny mounts angle kit, and engine bay tubs.
Jesse Hanna – The 1JZ assembly and build, full fuel cell system, AN line creation, bash bar (future), oil cooler setup, exhaust build, and intercooler pipping.
Team Verzus’ Bomac at Horse Thief Mile, Willow Springs California. He’s looking good out there!
What a way to start a drift event day…
broken cam shaft. Don’t know what happened, I’m not going to blame anybody. Sometimes s**t happens.

So it has been a while since Yao has put a update out on his build. This build has been going for a while now and is almost near completion! Here are the pictures for the update. All the new fabrication and installation was done by Las Vegas’ Jesse Hanna. This includes the rear bash setup, fuel cell system, motor, etc. The cage, stitch welding, tubs, and 1JZ mounts were done by Forest Wang @ Get Nutz Laboratories here in Las Vegas. The car is looking like it’s going to be a monster and hopefully will have this thing put together and tuned within the next month.
We really tried to make this car dynamic in terms of being reliable and easy to fix. We went Vband on pretty much everything and all of the hoses and turbo clamps will be held on with Vibrant connectors and tbolt clamps.
We got a new member for Team Verzus. He was invited on about a month ago and his car is looking amazing. We all need some FD in our lives and he is making it happen. He is out of Arizona at this time, but close friend to Dook-E on our team. We look forward to seeing more on this car and hopefully some drift sessions here in the future.
Welcome to the team Phillip!
Brian and Chris Saip have been putting some work in for their rps13 LS1 build. Yes yes, we have all seen many LS1 builds around, but we guarantee you guys the Verzus special with this one. The Saip bro’s have been working hard to make sure it doesn’t sound like the other annoying sounding LS1’s out there. I’m sure they will do it justice because the build looks so clean already. These pictures are just some previews. They will have the car up and running with the new motor here in the next few days and we will get better pics up on here.
We are almost there. We are in the process of hooking up the Haltech with the base map from Steve Shadows. We should have it started in the next week or so, “hopefully.”
